Grinding Balls For SAG
The Semi-autogenous grinding process is a form of autogenous grinding process. The media consists of two parts: ore and grinding balls. The mineral be ground by Impact and squeezing among grinding balls, ore and liners. The size of feeding ore is around 200-350mm. after grinding the discharged ore size can reach several millimeters or less. The crushing ratio is large, which could significantly shorten the process,and has great advantages in saving space, capital investment, maintenance and other aspects.At present, the mining SAG towards the direction of large-scale, and semi-autogenous grinding machines with a diameter of up to 12.2m have appeared, which greatly improves the processing capacity of ore.
The ore in the SAG mill is mainly crushed by impact force, abrasive force and squeezing force between ore particles and grinding balls,through the continuous rotation of the mill, the large ore will be rotated into inner layer (near the center of the mill), and the smaller particles will be the outer layer. Most of the grinding balls for SAG mill have a diameter of 120-150mm, and the larger diameter have a larger gravitational potential energy to impact and grind.Based on the operational principle of SAG mill, it require the grinding ball must have excellent impact resistance and wear resistance.Good toughness could greatly enhance the grinding effect avoiding breakage; low wear rate could reduces the amount of grinding balls, increases production efficiency and lowers costs.
